Tennis champion Serena Williams last night tied the knot with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in an intimate wedding ceremony at the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans.
Serena wore three breathtakingly gorgeous dresses. First was a regal ball gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, which she walked down the aisle with. This was a voluminous tulle skirt and strapless neckline, which she paired with a pretty cape.
Her second dress was a dramatic beaded, feathered Versace dress.
The final look for the night was a fitted Versace strap blouse with a short skirt. Alexis looked dapper in his Armani suit.
We love how non-conventional the aisle was. So runway like.
During the recitation of vows, Alexis told Serena, “You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport. I’m talking about as a mother, and as a wife. I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairy tale together. And my whole life I didn’t even realize it, but I was waiting for this moment. And everything that I have done, everything that I am so proud of in my career, and in my life, for the last 34 years, pales in comparison to what we’re doing today. And I am so grateful, and I am so in love.”
Aww… so sweet!
The couple’s two month-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr was not left out. She wore a sparkly mini wedding dress and watched her parents tie the knot.
From the decor designed by legendary event designer Preston Bailey with a modern opulent fairytale theme, to the surprise illuminated white carousel from Alexis to Serena, the wedding ceremony was such a lovely experience.
Guests including Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, La La Anthony, Kelly Rowland, Anna Wintour, Tina Knowles, Ciara, Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker and more celebrated with the couple.
