BEYONCÉ BRINGS STUNNING ‘FORMATION WORLD TOUR’ TO DODGER STADIUM

Queen Bey’s crown shined brightly on Wednesday (Sept. 14) as Beyoncé brought her immensely popular “Formation World Tour” to Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium during the second U.S. leg of the trek.

Long after opener Anderson .Paak wowed early birds at the stadium, the lights dimmed, and the air became electrifying as “Formation” kicked off with dazzling visual displays that would continue to be a hallmark of the show.

Clearly, Bey did not come to play on this tour and her fierce setlist proved that with confident bangers like “Sorry,” “Bow Down,” and “Run the World (Girls),” being early crowd favorites.

From there, ‘Yoncé went through a range of emotions, allowing her fans to experience these waves as they sang along. There was the empowering “Diva” and the in-your-face brashness of “Flawless,” but there was also a reflective tone with cuts like “Daddy Lessons,” “Runnin’ (Lose It All),” and “All Night.” Energy hit an apex during “Freedom,” where Bey and her dancers splashed across a shallow pool with a ferocious and graceful flare.

It was with this range and versatility that Beyoncé and her all-female dance crew wowed the sold-out crowd over the course of about an hour-and-a-half (with minor pauses for wardrobe changes). The star-studded crowd included familiar faces such as Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lawrence, Sia, Channing Tatum, and Bey’s Destiny’s Child sister Kelly Rowland.

To close out the show, ‘Yoncé delivered a rousing performance of “Halo.” As fireworks danced above her and while her vocals projected across the stadium, a fan nearby who had just been vibing to the music happily was in tears. This was the type of emotional response Queen Bey evoked.

The “Formation World Tour,” which visited Pasadena’s Rose Bowl in May, will travel to New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Nashville, before coming to a close Oct. 7 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Fans can still get more from the tour thanks to American Express’ behind-the-scenes experience AmexMusic.com, where the BeyHive can find bonus content and more.
